Free Will - Our choice to make and our decision to live with!!!
(written by Nona White)
In the beginning names were like destiny, meaningful and whether good, bad or sad-- said much about ones character.
Did you know, Adam means man and Eve means to live or breathe life? Not hard for them to live up to their names, huh?? God created man and breathed life into him so they have the most fitted names in history. Down the line we have Abraham which means father of many (and that he was). Even Jabez... what a story!! This individual was only mentioned once in the bible yet his prayer (1 Chronicles 4: 9-10) has been made known to many saints and non-saints alike. His mother had so much pain and sorrow during his birth that she named him Jabez, which means born in pain. Can you imagine that? He knew what it meant yet was determined not to cause pain nor sorrow anymore in his life to anyone else, so began his plea to God and because of his determination, loyalty, and faith his name is no longer associated with pain and sorrow but fervent, humbling prayer!
As we progress through time , we enter slavery. Many of our last names came from the slave owners. Even our ancestors knew that regardless of the time or condition of living, that they wanted to give their children hope, and a name destined to produce success even in dreadful conditions. Are you getting the point yet? Fast forward to the say the 1930-1950's. Many business deals were made based on a man's word. They say sometimes "a man's word is all he has", that being said, men kept their word. If they didn't, their name would be associated with bad dealings. It could ruin their business and shame their family.
Considering our past is our future with some lesoons learned. It is our names that can travel the world more than we can ourselves. Our names add character. Hence, a partial aspect of freewill to name our offspring whatever we desire.
Like, the name Gene, means born to nobility. ( I think I am doing pretty good!) Yet, the name Jason means to heal, and sad to say that some that hold that name do it it no justice. There's a saying " it's not what they call you but what you answer to". Something to think about right?
Seriously, what's in a name? Do we stand by our names? Do we even care what colorful adjectives that others associate with our name? As we name our children or even our businesses do we predestine them to success or failure? Can you truly be proud with negative words of indescretion, adulterer, liar, racist, filthy etc... I know that I myself would rather have the positive not just for myself but my family sake as well. Like God fearing, favored, hard worker, faithful.. so on.. God has called us to be conquerors and doers of His word, so good or bad is a note to all who's side you would rather be on.
Don't get me wrong , we are who we are, none of us are perfect. But we have one chance at life; one name to carry; one God who can do it all!!!
Changing your name is not what I am suggesting to you. However, a positive, effective change for the better would be more beneficial than going down a dark and quite lonely path.
So here is the freewill kicker again. Do you choose to make a name for yourself that your family would be ever so proud of or do you make a name for yourself that signals to all " Danger,Danger!! " Do you choose to give your child a name that will be respected throughout the community, or will choose to name your child after your favorite alcohol, car, or clothing line?
FREEWILL- consequences no matter the actions.

- Higher Boundaries: Reaching for More
Mom and Pops raised me to be a man who takes care of his responsibilities and his mistakes. The funny thing about life is that some of those mistakes turn into responsibilities that become blessings in diguise. Enter 50 cent...
New track heard here by "Fitty" has an interesting take on getting the draws wooing a woman. Especially when he says "Have a baby by me baby, and be a millionaire" Really? Was it me or did he make it seem like he was proposing a business deal? After listening to the song a couple of times and taking it all in, I said to myself "self..." and self said "yes???" and I said you know the sad thing about it is that some chicken-head young lady will actually fall for that bs!
What about this one from your boy Kels. "Let's go half on a baby" How many dudes have used THAT to get what they want. How many females have given it up off these lines? How many of God's children were conceived to this bs? I guess my issue really comes in with the lack of responsibility that this sort of thinking and acting promotes with in the tracks mentioned above. Is there some woman who is going to her nearest 50 concert while thinking "Gyrrrrl, I am going to be paid, cause I am going do whatever to get back there and see him tonight?" What about that dude who has PERFECTED the (inmydeepvoice) "Let's go half on a baby, BABY!" spill down to an art, but does not know how to take car of his seed once it drops. As I said earlier. Mom and Pops raised me to be a man who takes care of his responsibilities and his mistakes. Amongst all the thoughts that flooded my mind was the thought of Who is the highest paid baby mama in the land?
1. 50 cent pays out over $25,000 per month in CH-SUP to his "Baby Momma" for his child. (that is over $300 stacks/yr) some people dont make in a year what she is getting paid per month. Oh yeah and btw apparently she took him
"fitty" back to court in 2007 because that wasn't enough.
2. Russell Simmons says he's happy to fork over $40,000 a month in child support for his two daughters. That is over 20,000 PER child PER month.
3. Kim Porter also recives $20,000 per month according to a 2001 people mag article.
So after my random thoughts of celeb babies and baby momma drama started to become formatted thoughts instead of incoherent rambling, It was clear to me that we have a flawed system in my opinion. I do believe that a child should get everything they deserve from from both parents, regardless of the relationship betwen the parents. It is unfortunate when (as it is in SOOOO many cases) the parents can't even stand each other, can't even be friends are not together, but the child should not suffer. That being said I don't think that a woman should take advanage of a situation either. This might not sit well some of you ladies when I say this but, personally I think that 20K per month is more than enough to take care of one child, even if it IS 50 cent's baby. After all it is CHILD suport not the lottery, although, you did hit it big if you had a baby by fitty.....(see the song above).
As I said before I was raised to take care of my responsibilities and if I were in the situation where I had a child that i could not be there for in the same household day in and day out, then I would do everything i could to make sure that his needs were taken care of regardless of my relationship with his mother. That is a sacrifice that has to be made. Some of you "sperm-donors" may be saying, "he don't know my baby momma, that chick is (insert so your adjective here)." Well sperm donor (by the way, don't be offended by that name, if you are doing what you need to do, and what is right, for your seed, I am not talking to you)it is YOUR and your crazy a$$ Baby Momma the mother of your child's responsibility to find a way to make it work.
I have to wonder when i look at a lot of the Youtube videos that are floating around the site, facebook and other social networks, what happened to the fathers in these homes. I won't go into specifics but when you look at a young man of 8 or 9 yrs old, dancing to Beyonce's-"put a ring on it" like he was auditioning for the video itself, I wonder "where is his father?" Is this truly where the world is today? Are we really exploiting our kids to the point that what someone thought was "cute" turned into something completely distasteful and inappropriate? But.....That's a whole other topic.
So to recap, fellas
a. Wrap it up.........(nuff said right?)
b. If you don't like what you have to pay in Chsup on the regular,(should've peeped point a.)think...it could always be worse. Are you paying 20 stacks per month?
c.Take care of your seed.......phyisically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and financially. You never get a second chance to raise your seed the right way whatever that is.
Success is a word that can be defined in many many different ways. The American Heritage Dictionary defines it in this manner:(http://www.thefreedictionary.com/)
suc-cess n.
suc-cess n.
1. The achievement of something desired, planned, or attempted: attributed their success in business to hard work.
2.
a. The gaining of fame or prosperity: an artist spoiled by success
a. The gaining of fame or prosperity: an artist spoiled by success
. b. The extent of such gain.
3. One that is successful: The plan was a success.
4. Obsolete A result or an outcome.
Obviously anyone with a pulse can categorize some type of accomplishment into one of these categories. But how do YOU define success? Personally I tend lean away from the word when it is used in the context of an overall "official " classification of oneself! I think that my status or how I rate myself is broken down into the individual goals both long and short term and how close i come to achieving those. Do I consider my self successful....it depends.

Only you can define your success! Is it money you want? maybe power? nice cars or clothes? (biting Drake) Whatever you feel will make you be successful is what you should get up every morning focusing on. Have a plan for your life. If you do not feel that you are where you need to be right now, don't sweat it. Do not beat yourself down about it. Just stop now, take the time to think about where you wanna be, and how you can take control of your life. Once you have that plan in mind , put it on paper . Break your short, mid, and long term goals down and work on them, one task/action at a time. You determine how high you can reach. I am just here to help if you need me.
Now, me personally, when I was young, I wanted to be a doctor. A Sports Physician to be exact. I was going to go to college, then med school, then find a job working for a pro football team making six figures a year. That didn't take long to change after about 3 weeks of Calculus in college. (Business management it is then) Long story short, currently I have a degree in Computer Networking, a far cry from where I started out. I took the bumps and bruises that life threw at me (still getting beaned btw) and I navigated them one day at a time. Celebrating each success as it came my way. "Test tomorrow, gotta make a good grade" Check! "Get through the year without getting a speeding ticket" Check! "She is fine, can I get number?" Yep! (only sometimes though)
One successful task at a time. That's how i continue to measure complete success in life.
